In December, The altView Foundation is launching supportiveparents.ca, a new website to provide resources, tips, blogs, and peer supports for Albertan families to help them navigate the often rough waters of supporting an LGBTQ2S+ loved one. For many families, this is the first time they’re encountering this and they don’t have anyone or anywhere they can ask for help.
That’s where you come in.
The most important piece for our new project is the element of peer supports. We recognize that many Albertan families want to hear from other families who were just like them, who have encountered the same problems and struggles. We also feel it’s important for the families looking for guidance to understand what supportive parents look like through the eyes on LGBTQ2S+ youth in Alberta.
